Thanksgiving canceled

Due to lack of cooks, the Thanksgiving party at Kate's house has been cancelled. We have no more hosts on the books for the rest of year, but maybe people will be interested in re-starting up the parties in January.  Let us know!  In the meantime, enjoy the holiday (and finals/papers/crunch time) season!

Hosting, anyone?

We have had two successful dinners so far, and a third coming up on November 22nd. We now need more hosts! It's fun to host- all you need to do is provide a main dish, and everyone else does the rest of the work (We usually even have a few "dishwashers" who attend!) If you would like to host a dinner, please leave a comment to this post about the month you would like to host. No need to have a specific date or theme in order to reserve a month to host!

Next Dinner: November 22nd 5pm- at Kate's house- Theme: Thanksgiving!

We are having another dinner and encourage as many of you to come as possible.  This one's theme is Thanksgiving, and it will occur on the 22nd, the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Kate will be making a turkey, so let us know in the comments to this post what you want to bring. Remember, if you can't cook, please still come to the party!  There is always plenty of food for everyone, and especially for Thanksgiving, it would be great if we could have as many people as possible attend. (As always, your guests are also encouraged to attend!)

Please let us know on the sidebar if you will be attending, and check updates on the "menu" sidebar to the left to see what people are bringing already.

Kate lives about an hour from NB, in Easton PA.  There will be carpools arranged from NB so people can get to her house easily.

October 25th, 8pm: Andrea's House: Honey

Our first dinner was such a success (I hear it had a second life lasting well into the early hours!) that we've decided to do another one.  This one's at Andrea's house (click on right-hand sidebar to see the host addresses), and her theme is "honey."  Basically, anything with honey in it goes!

Please respond as a comment to this post what you'd like to bring to this meal, and we'll add it to the sidebar menu. Also, please use the sidebar survey to RSVP.

See you soon!

Photos from Moroccan Night!

Here's the photos from last weekend's kick-off party at Analena's house.  Next up: Andrea's on the 18th.  The theme is Honey!  Please remember to tell us if you'll be coming (survey on the sidebar) as well as what you will bringing (as a comment to the "request for dishes") post.  Also, if you'd like us to post your recipes from the Moroccan party, please send them (or post them as a comment to this post), and I'll make sure they get up here.

See you on the 18th

PS: Just for own memories, here was the final menu:

Casablanca Cosmo & Colonial Delight (Etienne)
Moroccan Carrot Salad (Andrea)
Lentil Soup (Farah)
B'Stilla (Kate)

Signing up for months

Analena and Remy have graciously agreed to be the hosts for the first-ever meal.  Thanks Analena!  Basically, the hosts get to pick the theme (it can be ANYTHING- from finger food, to gourmet French, to homemade pizzas, to soup only, anything with limes, South African, etc...) and will organize what others are bringing (to make sure that everybody doesn't bring, for example, a dessert!). The rest is up to us!

Please consider hosting a dinner- the more hosts we have, the more fun it is, and plus- with enough hosts, you may only host once or twice a year.  As a reply to this post, please let us know when (what month) you might like to host, and we'll put you on the schedule.  You can pick the date and theme when your month gets closer.
