Signing up for months

Analena and Remy have graciously agreed to be the hosts for the first-ever meal.  Thanks Analena!  Basically, the hosts get to pick the theme (it can be ANYTHING- from finger food, to gourmet French, to homemade pizzas, to soup only, anything with limes, South African, etc...) and will organize what others are bringing (to make sure that everybody doesn't bring, for example, a dessert!). The rest is up to us!

Please consider hosting a dinner- the more hosts we have, the more fun it is, and plus- with enough hosts, you may only host once or twice a year.  As a reply to this post, please let us know when (what month) you might like to host, and we'll put you on the schedule.  You can pick the date and theme when your month gets closer.

September 27: Analena's house: Moroccan

Our first theme dinner will be on the 27th at Analena and Remy's house. The theme is Moroccan!  Basically, the idea of this is to "stretch yourself" as a cook (or mixologist, or dishwasher, as the case may be :) ) and come up with something fun to bring for everyone to share that fits with the theme.

Every month, we'll post the poll for you to RSVP to the next dinner, and ask you to tell us what you think you might bring.  All of that info will be posted on the sidebar monthly. So, as comments to this post, please let us know what you would like to bring for the upcoming dinner, and we'll get it posted....Ideally, we'll want salads, soups, desserts, side dishes, beverages, etc. Generally (although it doesn't have to be this way), the host would provide a main dish (enough for everyone), and for those of us bringing food we'd try to bring enough for everyone.  But, on our budgets, that may be tight, so we can just play it by ear.  There is certainly going to be enough food.

Welcome to Sociological Chefs!

This is the new official blog for Rutgers' Sociology Cooking club.

Check out the poll on the sidebar and let us know if you'll be attending our first dinner, on September 27th at Analena's house.

More to come.....as we start eating....

Looking forward to getting this started with you guys!
